Lyn will help you work through your own project, whether you are a complete beginner or a more experienced quilter. Some of these classes are already full, so be in quickly to reserve your place.
Dressmaking ClassesTutor: Robyn Keall Starting; Thursday Evening, 26th April 2012. Time: 7.00pm to 9.00pm Cost: $103.50 for 9 lessons
From the complete beginner through to those wanting start sewing again. This class has proved extremely popular, so you will need to add your name to our waiting list if you are interested in learning dressmaking.
Must Make it – FridaysNeed to finish that quilt quickly or secretly? Want a table to pin up a quilt? Or just need a few hours away from the usual routine. Switch your phone off and bring your project in to work on with few interruptions. There is NO TUTOR for these days, although the shop staff will be able to help with any minor issues. Craft Club
1st Saturday of the Month: 5th May, 2nd June 2012 Time: 9.30am to 2.30pm Tutor: Lyn Grant Our Craft Club continues until 2nd June for those enrolled. We will be starting our next group on 30th June as the 1st Saturday in July is in the middle of the school holidays. We are now taking expressions of interest for those wanting to join this group until Christmas.
Kingfisher - Thread painting, Machine embroiderySaturday, 19th and 26th May 2012, 10am to 3pm Tutors: Gloria Scanlen Cost: $75.00
A photo of this project is above. Most of you would have seen Gloria’s beautiful landscapes and realistic work at the local quilt exhibitions and Calico Christmas. In this class, Gloria will teach her own technique, which includes patchwork, quilting, machine embroidery and thread painting to create this amazing wall hanging. Some patchwork quilting experience is required. The class is filling fast, so be in quick!!
Paverpol – FishermanSaturday, 9th June 2012, 9.30am to 1.30pm Tutor: Elaine Orum Cost: $100.00 includes all materials required. Learn the techniques required to make an armature wire figurine and then dress your fisherman to make a unique sculpture ready for the home or garden. Wear old clothes, no jewellery (especially rings) and be prepared to get dirty. Quilt till ya wiltSaturday, 16th June 2012. Tutor: Lyn Grant Cost: $290.00- Includes all fabric, wadding and backing fabric plus lunch and dinner. 10am – till late!! A wonderful fun day. Go home tired and satisfied on a day well spent. A few weeks before the class, come in and choose your fabrics, then just arrive on the day (with your sewing kit, safety pins, thread and machine of course). We will wash and cut your fabric, provide lunch and dinner, so all you need to do is sew. A 50% deposit is required when you choose your fabrics. Early bookings are essential so we have time to prepare your fabrics.
Jewellery – Basic Beading SkillsSaturday, 23rd June 2012, 9.30am to 11am Tutors: Elaine Orum Cost: $35.00 includes all materials required. Learn the basic skills of crimping, using jump rings and head pins. You will then be able to continue on at home with this fun hobby. We will make a necklace and a pair of earrings.
