Fabricland started as a dress fabric and craft store around 35 years ago.

It has grown and changed through many trends. Remember the macramé plant hangers and cane baskets we were all making in the 70s?

In 2004, Peter and Elaine Orum purchased the business. As an avid quilter, Elaine, has changed the emphasis of the store towards this; while still stocking dress fabric, haberdashery, Simplicity, Burda and New Look patterns and all the associated products.

Fabricland is an Elna and Brother Sewing Machine Dealer and also carries a wide range of embroidery, paverpol, beading and other handcraft supplies.

Our classes are a huge part of our business, with seven Patchwork and Quilting, and a Dressmaking class held each week. Resident tutors  Lyn Grant and Robyn Keall have years of teaching experience and are able to teach all levels, from total beginners through to experienced stitchers. Workshops are held weekly, introducing new ideas and techniques for the various crafts.

Our 'Quilt till ya Wilt' workshop has turned out to be the highlight of our term calendar for many, with our classroom bulging at the seams for a day of laughter and humming sewing machines.

We run a discount / loyalty system to reward your continued patriotism and to keep our customers informed we send out a quarterly newsletter.

We are a growing and changing business, always trying to keep up with trends and introduce new and exciting things for us all to do.
